Her background is in athletics, personal development, and life sciences. Having been involved in chiropractic for 17 years, she practiced in Durango, Colorado for most of that time before being called back to her home in Austin in late 2019.
Dr. Steph is beyond grateful to have the opportunity to uplift humanity- one spine at a time- through the extraordinary technologies and methods of NetworkSpinal chiropractic. Being free-spirited by nature, and she believes that everyone deserves to feel great about themselves, and experience the joy and well-being that comes from having an aligned spine and optimized nervous system. Her passion is helping people see the light of their own being in areas where it may have been previously unseen or otherwise diminished.
Dr. Steph lives in South Austin with her two children. She rides her bike with youthful abandon, holds a reverence for live music, and has always preferred to discuss the mystical rather than the mundane. Her family loves basketball, baseball, camping, circus arts, and discovering new adventures together. When she’s not driving her kids around, she can be found hiking the greenbelt, chasing after birds, or swimming with turtles. She occasionally hugs trees, when she thinks no one is watching.

Occupational Therapist & Owner @ Empowering Play, LLC
I am an occupational therapist serving children and their families in Austin, Texas and am the owner of Empowering Play, LLC. I am obsessed with child development, sensory integration, and psychology and love sharing what I’ve learned with others. I enjoy learning about the unique strengths and challenges of the families I work with and finding supportive strategies that work well for both the child and the caregiver.
I specialize in sensory processing and mental health challenges. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including an inclusive preschool, a juvenile detention center, an outpatient pediatric therapy clinic, a residential treatment center for children healing from trauma, and home health. I also have experience as a live-in respite care provider for individuals with special needs.
My experience in the caregiver role has enabled me to understand how chaotic it can be to care for individuals who are unable to express strong feelings in safe ways. I also understand how frustrating it can be to receive unhelpful advice from well-meaning professionals or family members who don’t understand what your day-to-day life is like. This experience enriches my ability to recognize the challenges my clients face and collaborate with them to make incremental changes over time to cultivate a more peaceful and joyful connection with their children.
Does Your Child…
- seem extra sensitive to their environment?
- have trouble noticing things that are obvious to you?
- have meltdowns that leave you feeling at a loss?
- struggle with coordination for physical activities?
- need more assistance than other kids their age for self-care tasks?
Occupational therapy can help! Schedule your free call at Empowering-play.com!

Hello everyone, my name is Nicole Williams and I am so excited to be part of the Austin Wellness Collaborative! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 8 years’ experience in counseling and over 20 years’ experience in working with children, teens and families as an educator, school counselor, Social Emotional Learning teacher, trainer and consultant.
In my practice I specialize in supporting individuals (children, teens, adults) and families with anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, and chronic illness. Being a chronic illness warrior myself, I understand the many different challenges that one faces with a chronic condition or diagnosis. I am passionate about helping others integrate a life of joy and connection while managing an illness., with care, wisdom, humor, and just a little bit of rebellion. There is so much power in being heard, seen, understood and believed, for both the individual and their loved ones who are also impacted.
When working with clients I believe in a whole-body approach, meaning looking at how to help them understand their nervous system, and practicing tools such as TF-CBT, Guided Imagery, Meditation, Trauma-Informed Yoga, and EFT (Tapping) to help regulate their system. I also use traditional talk therapy along with Psychodrama, and CBT relational care to help support healing and change.
When I am not at my practice I love to be out in nature; hiking, camping, paddle boarding, you name it, if it is outside, then I am there! I am also a foster fur mommy to rescue pit bulls (pibbles as we call them if they are puppies). If I had a bigger house, I would fail at fostering more often than finding a home for them, I can be a complete pushover with sad puppy eyes!
When my house is empty of furry fosters I love to travel, especially volunteer travel. My favorite volunteer trip was to Borneo where I worked with an orangutan rehabilitation and release center by day and taught the children in the village at night.
While I know the challenges of living with a life altering illness, I also know the profound joy of integrating things that you love in new ways to a life after the diagnosis. I would love to help others who are facing this same challenge.
