Director / Lead Instructor @
The Mindful Center Austin
In 2010, I moved to Albuquerque, NM to start what became a three year intensive mindfulness practice and training at The Mindful Center, an organization founded in 1991 by Jim DuVal.
Under the guidance of Jim, and Michelle DuVal, the current Director of The Mindful Center, I started learning, practicing, and teaching mindfulness meditation at various medical centers and organizations across New Mexico.
Currently, I am finishing my MBSR certification with Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the Stress Reduction Clinic in the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. I have also attended various multi day professional retreats with Dr. Jon Kabat Zinn, as well as the 10 day silent Vipassana Course.
I received a BA in Philosophy and Theology from the University of San Francisco and a Masters certificate at UCLA Film School. When I’m not home developing my teachings, working on marketing for my business, or sitting on my cushion meditating, you can catch me playing soccer at Zilker Park (and then cooling off at Barton Springs).
As a newcomer to Austin, I hope to align myself with people, organizations, and causes that speak to the truth and benefits of mindfulness meditation.
