Gregory Scott Brown, M.D., is a Psychiatrist and Founder of the Center for Green Psychiatry, an Austin-based wellness advocacy platform and collaboration of independent outpatient clinics. Dr. Brown believes in an integrative approach to health and wellness, as well as promoting positive mental health discourse through writing, community engagement and media.
In 2018, he started “This is Mental Health” a podcast devoted to highlighting unlikely advocates for mental wellness, which has featured guests from college and professional athletics, chefs, yoga instructors, and artists. He has also written extensively, including wellness blogs for Austin Fit Magazine and Psychology Today.
Dr. Brown completed residency in general psychiatry at the Dell Medical School, and he is the process of completing a fellowship in integrative medicine with the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM).
During his residency, he received a number of awards, including a SAMHSA minority fellowship from the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Dr. Brown is an avid yogi and is a registered yoga teacher, with specialized training in the trauma-conscious yoga method.
